Privacy Policy for Dumbphone
Last updated: September 2, 2024
Overview
Dumbphone, an Android launcher developed by Caaalm, is designed to simplify your smartphone experience and minimize distractions by providing a streamlined interface. This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to safeguarding your privacy, detailing our data handling practices.
Use of Accessibility Features
- Display Over Other Apps: Dumbphone uses this feature to overlay the Blocking Service on top of non-selected apps based on user preferences. This function does not involve the collection, storage, or transmission of personal data or app usage information.
- Usage Access: This permission allows Dumbphone to detect the active application for the Blocking Service and is crucial for our Screen Time feature.
- Notification Access: Employed for the Notification Filter functionality, enabling Dumbphone to manage how notifications are displayed.
- Modify System Settings: This is used solely for the 'Hold for Brightness' feature, allowing adjustment of device brightness settings directly.
- Device admin app: The device admin app to double tap to lock is used only for the Double tap to lock functionality.
- Accessibility Control: Used exclusively for the 'Double Tap to Lock' feature, enabling users to quickly lock their screen with a double-tap gesture.
Related to these permissions, we do not collect or store any personal information.
No Personal Data Collection
We prioritize user privacy. Dumbphone does not collect, monitor, or store any personal data. Your interactions within the app remain confidential and are not recorded by our systems. The only data that is sent to us is your feedback texts after you click "Send".
No Data Sharing
Since we do not collect your usage data, we also do (and by definition, cannot) not share it. Only non-personal, aggregated data might be utilized for troubleshooting and enhancing app functionality. There is no sharing or disclosure of any personal information to third parties.
Web Browser Functionality
Dumbphone includes a simple web browser that only collects the necessary data to display web pages. It does not track or store your browsing history. It enforces only secure connections and does not share your data with third parties.
Children’s Privacy
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Dumbphone does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Should we become aware of such collection without parental consent, immediate action will be taken to eliminate this data from our records.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy to reflect updates in our practices. Significant changes will be communicated through the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage regular review of this policy to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
